Who's In The Money

Internet blogs, forums and message boards etc. can become valuable commodities. So now, who IS in the money? I found a really neat site that let's you enter different websites to see what they are worth. Here below are some of the results that I have come up with so far. I will be adding to the list in the near future. One thing that I would like to add here is that these figures tend to change daily, not by much though.
Update:
I have had a few questions about what this all means. The value discussed here is the "resale" value. It does not mean that these websites are making this money now, it is more what these websites could get from a sale. Some of these websites make money in other ways, such as through advertising for third parties and or pay per click etc. People buy and sell domains daily on the internet. Domain names also have seperate values. The values that I have listed below is for the entire website as a whole. I call that lock, stock and barrel.
.
Your website at www.chatandgrumble.com is worth $ 0.00
.

Your website at www.goldmonkey.org is worth $ 53.00

.

Your website at www.blogsfornatalee.com is worth $1,635.00

.

Your website at www.refugeesunleashed.net is worth $140,304.00

.

Your website at www.websleuths.com is worth $182.071.00.

.

Your website at www.scaredmonkeys.com is worth $537,506.00

.

Just a note about the above results. Although Goldmonkey.org shows up at only $53.00, the site is owned by the operator of Carnut.com which shows a worth of $511,076.00.

.

More sites to come, or go try entering your own site here: http://directory.sootle.com/website-worth/
Hurry back!

What does it mean "worth". Like a blue book thing? so you know what selling price based on number of members. Or is it capital that they have in the bank?

That is a good question Dufus. LMAO at your nick-name, just so you know. Some of those forums should pay their members for wasting there time. Websleuths is one, MMAC is another.

When I finish reading them I have to fight the urge to go poke myself in the eye for the sheer stupidity of the places. Never have read at Scared Monkeys though. Seems like there is much to be learned about that forum too.

I think a lot of what "worth" means is how the website shows up in search engine rankings etc. The higher a site comes up in search engine rankings the more people will visit. This makes the website more popular and adding value.

When someone goes to sell a website, higher turnover of visitors is a plus.

Hope that helps some.

Wow, so Red is worth a half a million bucks!

Is Red the same person as Murt?

No, Red is the owner of scaredmonkeys.

I don't even know if Murt has a site for us to look up.

I think at C&G they pay people to read and post, lol. Otherwise they would have no participation at all.

Losers!

Could you please explain. The title of this is "Who's in the money." That makes it sound like you're telling how much money each site has made within a given period of time - but you don't say what time period that covers. Then you write about each site is "worth" x amount of dollars and you don't explain what that means. What exactly do the dollar amounts represent? Thank you.

I think you have to go to the site posted at the bottom of the article to find out what it means. Not money made but I think potential.

And some people have zero potential even. That's really bad.

I have updated the article to better explain. Thanks for the question.

But I thought Carnut was so poor and pitiful! You would think he would care more about his other website than to let that bunch of thugs bring them both down.

Anonymous said...

Nope! He's one of the worst of them. Before there was Greased Muckers there was just Carnut chat and they were not one bit better than the current gang.

MrsKub, your site isn't worth shit.

LMFAO!
